Changing exhibitions are organized every year
The MAMUZ Schloss Asparn/Zaya museum and discovery centre gives visitors a fascinating insight into pre-, early and ancient history, and mediaeval archaeology. Original finds and historic dwellings and farm buildings shed light on everyday life in these periods. Inside the castle, various prehistoric finds are used to trace mankind’s history. Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age settlements in the outdoor archaeological park in the grounds of the neighbouring Schlosspark show visitors how our ancestors once lived.
Visitors can also take a behind-the-scenes look at the work of an archaeologist. Armed with a microscope and timeline, they can also try their hand at a spot of research.
Historic festivals fill the grounds with life as visitors have the chance to rub shoulders with Celts and Huns.
