Opis
As a Gothic part of the fortifications of the church of Weißenkirchen, the Teisenhoferhof was extensively expanded in 1542: on the one hand by an arcaded courtyard in Renaissance style, on the other hand by two towers. Today the complex is one of the most beautiful Renaissance courtyards in the country and is used as a lively meeting place with history mainly for public and cultural events. This historical setting also houses the Wachau Museum.
The Galerie im Teisenhoferhof sees itself as a platform for relevant contemporary art. Twice a year we show exhibitions with Austrian and international artists. On display are alternately different exhibitions in the gallery or old paintings by Johann Nepomuk Geller and Bruno Buresch and the beautiful traditional Wachau costume.
