Walking and water world at Myra falls in Muggendorf

Stawy, jeziora i źródła

Opis

The Myra falls cascade from a total height of 125 m to the depths below in the municipality of Muggendorf in the Vienna Alps. The falls originate in Myrabach, which is 7 km away in Unterberg – a limestone massif with many hollow spaces.

Visitors can follow the roaring sounds of the falls across 26 winding bridges and many steps and stairs. Every day, 5 million litres of water tumble over the rocks into the depths below. In winter, the natural spectacle of snow melting is also extremely fascinating.

Visitors can learn about the flora and fauna in the area at 11 subject stations and find out how energy was once generated from here using hydropower. It is an interesting excursion, especially for families with children. The little ones can enjoy the wildlife enclosures and a large play area with a climbing paradise, water playground and an adventurous raft ride on the Myra tarn:

To arrive by public transport on Sundays and public holidays, there is a bus running seven times a day from Pernitz railway station to Muggendorf and back during summer holidays (every hour from 10.23 a.m.  – apart from 1.23 p.m.).
