The 4th stage of the Viennese Alps (WAB) starts in Wiesmath and heads over the ridges and deep ditches of the Bucklige Welt on the way to Kirchschlag.
The fascinating landscape of the Bucklige Welt is a particular experience of this stage. This route features ancient wayside shrines, fortified churches, massed settlements, and boundless freedom up in the hills. Starting out from Wiesmath, the heart of this landscape, this route is varied and offers many different views above the ridges and through the deep ditches of the Bucklige Welt.

We start the tour in the centre of Wiesmath and follow the yellow signs with the blue Viennese Alps logo. We cross through Schwarzenberg and follow the route. We turn right at Neumühle and continue along the road. At the next crossroads we turn left and then head onto the path away from the road. After crossing through Gleichenbach, we follow the signs as far as Lembach, where we enjoy views of the Schneeberg and the Viennese Alps. Continue along this route down to Kirchschlag in der Buckligen Welt, to the end of this stage at the Kaiser Franz Josef monument.
When coming from Vienna via the A2, take the S4 towards Eisenstadt at Wiener Neustadt and then leave at the Lanzenkirchen exit. Continue along Frohdorfer Straße or Wiener Neustädter Straße and follow the signs to Wiesmath.
